On November 22, 2010, Prof. Vijay P. Singh, the Editor-in-Chief of Water Science and Engineering, Dr. James Nickum, the Editor-in-Chief of Water International, and Dr. Tom Soo, the Executive Director of IWRA (International Water Resources Association) visited the editorial office of WSE and met the editorial staff. The journal’s Executive Editor-in-Chief, Deguan Wang, and Associate Editors-in-Chief Prof. Zhongbo Yu and Prof. Guoqing Shi also attended the meeting. Prof. Vijay P. Singh gave high recognition to the achievements that the journal obtained in the past three years, particularly for its being indexed in Ei Compendex in 2010. He said that the journal had been widely recognized at present, and we should get it to a next level. In regard to the further development of the journal, Prof. Vijay P. Singh, Dr. James Nickum, and Dr. Tom Soo put forward some constructive suggestions, including publishing special issues, inviting and soliciting articles from all over the world, bringing in more top-notch experts and researchers from a wide variety of countries for a competitive editorial board, arousing the enthusiasm and activities of editors, establishing the journal’s regional reputation, and cooperating and communicating with international associations and periodicals. They all agreed that high quality is the vitality of the journal and is what the editorial staff should put effort on in the future.
